Information we collect about you. With regard to each of your visits to our website we may automatically collect the following information:

  • we receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way;

  • we may collect the internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet, computer and connection information and purchase history;

  • we may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information and methods used to browse away from the page. 

Our website is hosted on Wix.com. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. Wix.com uses cookies, these are small pieces of data stored on a site visitor's browser. They are typically used to keep track of the settings users have selected and actions they have taken on a site. Our bookings are managed by Bookalet.co.uk, an online booking management solution specifically developed for the self-catering holiday home rental market. Bookalet.co.uk provides a suite of tools to help promote our business and manage all aspects of the letting process once a booking has been made.  

 

Our products and services can only be booked by people aged 18 or over. Therefore, we do not knowingly receive or try to seek any information from children.

We may contact you to:

  • notify you regarding your booking;

  • to troubleshoot problems with your booking; 

  • to resolve a dispute;

  • to collect fees or monies owed;

  • to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires;

  • to send updates about our company;

  • or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our terms and conditions, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. 

 

For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages and by post.

 

We may share your information with selected third parties including:

  • business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with them or you;

  • our technology partners for the purposes of taking bookings, payments and sending emails and personalised marketing;

  • selected social media sites where we upload limited personal information, such as your email address, so that we can market to you on those social media platforms about our products and services we think may be of interest to you.

We may also disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • in the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.

  • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our terms of use or terms and conditions of supply and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of P & J Mayne, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We collect such non-personal and personal information for the following purposes:

  • to provide and operate the services;

  • to provide ongoing customer assistance and support;

  • to be able to contact our visitors and users with general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages;

  • to create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred non-personal information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  • to comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are: 

  • we have a contractual obligation - we will use your data because we have a contract with you in regard to your holiday booking;

  • your consent - we may ask if you wish to receive marketing information when you place a booking with us. You are able to remove your consent at any time by contacting info@theryesholidaycottage.com;

  • we have a legitimate interest - we may use your name and contact details to tell you about things that we think may be of interest to you while you are staying in Bell Tower Cottage, you can ask us not to do this at any time by contacting info@theryesholidaycottage.com;

  • we have a legal obligation - such as for tax purposes and making financial records available for audit.

We keep your personal information for as long as we need to for the purposes for which it was collected or (if longer) for any period for which we are required to keep personal information to comply with our legal and regulatory requirements. After this time, it will be permanently deleted.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • your right of access - you have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information;

  • your right to rectification - you have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete;

  • your right to restriction of processing - you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances;
